Retired at the age of 70years and 1month after working for 54 years in the construction industry.Despite being retired, I manage to keep busy, also recently treated myself to two new cars, enjoying both cars, especially the V8 625bhp BMW X5 M Competition

Commenced work on the A74 upgrade to Dual Carriageway between Glasgow and Carlisle in 1963, completed too many contracts in various locations to list, retired at the end of 2017 after completing a major maintenance programme along the same section of road that I started on just over 54 years earlier.I am now enjoying retirement, carrying out upgrades and maintenance to our house and property whilst managing to fit in some superb holidays, and despite receiving many attractive job offers, I intend to continue to enjoy myself.My wife Marcia and I have now been married for over 51 years and I still don't know how on earth she has put up with me, but she has, somehow!Family now consists of 2 daughters + husbands, 4 grand children + husbands, and 5 great grand children, oh, and our West Highland Terrier, Mia.
