John has more than 31years of experience as a research engineer at Georgia Tech, primarily working on structural acoustics projects in the School of Mechanical Engineering. With a background in structural engineering, John has extensive experience in finite element modeling and application software development. John has developed simulation and design software in a variety of disciplines including underwater structural acoustics, signal processing, SONAR design, digital and analog filter design, controls, and optimization algorithms. John also developed acoustic messaging software that implemented the JAUS messaging standard for a UUV developed by GTRI called the Yellowfin. John is an experienced programmer (Python, C/C++, Fortran, Matlab, Labview), Linux system administrator, and holds a Top Secret security clearance. Recently, John has developed Python applications for sensor fusion data analysis and multi-hypothesis target tracking.
