Worked in Division 10 (Intelligent Systems) to develop automation solutions for various clients.

I lead tours of 2-25 through an hour-long trek within the cave, filling them in on the mechanisms of speleology as well as pointing out the more beautiful formations. I am always barraged with questions, which I take as a sign of the patrons' interest in the place. It is a rewarding experience to be able to answer them all - through my work here and research outside work, I have developed an extensive understanding of speleology, which is supported by my coursework on physical geology in college. Each chance I get to return to Boerne during and between semesters at UTD, I spend a few days working at the cave.

Receiving training on professional engineering practices, meetings, and communication as part of the Senior Design capstone course at UTD. Worked in a self-organizing team of students to design and build an MRI-compatible pulse oximetry system for a UTSW client. Personally designed the 10-meter-long fiber-optic and light source system to carry light signals into and out of the chamber, designed and assembled the power supply and signal amplification systems, and headed up reverse-engineering signal processing code for the selected microcontroller.

Worked in food preparation, cleanup, and other assignments in the restaurant approximately 20 hours per week. Carried out hardware maintenance.
