MERJE is an independent design consultancy focusing on environmental graphic design. Current projects include; Whistler, Canada, Wayfinding Master Plan, the Atlanta BeltLine Wayfinding Program, Downtown Austin, TX Wayfinding Master Plan, Swarthmore College Town Center West, Capitol Riverfront District Wayfinding Program (Washington, DC.) and the Abu Dhabi Addressing, Geonames and Signage Program (U.A.E.).As environmental graphic designers we create memorable places and meaningful visitor experiences that promote and enhance our client's brand and help them achieve their strategic mission and goals.This is done through a holistic design approach that merges graphic design with the built environment. Our work continues to include five basic elements: branding and identity, wayfinding and signage, architectural and visual enhancements, exhibit and interpretive design, and print materials.

MERJE is created. With a fresh approach and focus the studio wins projects for Downtown Tampa, Downtown Phoenix and the Las Colinas Convention Center. The studio wins a national AIA Award for its Camp Rehoboth Donor Recognition Wall and a GD USA In-House Design Award for its own re-brand initiative

With a new design curriculum focusing on environmental graphic design, classes focus on wayfinding, architectural signage and exhibit projects. Junior and Senior level students learn the philosophy, design process and technical aspects of environmental graphic design.

In June of 2007 Hillier Architecture merges with RMJM to form RMJM Hillier.The studio continues to grow and establish a specific expertise in urban wayfinding with projects such as Asheville Regional Wayfinding Program, the City of Savannah Historic Landmark District and Augusta GA. It also completes projects for the Episcopal Academy, Newtown Square and CBS Studios in Philadelphia.

Director of the Graphic Design Studio for Hillier Architecture (The Hillier Group). Responsibilities included day to day management of a busy design studio, including; marketing, project management, design direction and wayfinding strategy for a variety of environmental graphic design projects.The group worked daily with architects and interior designers to design, plan and implement wayfinding, signage, donor recognition and identity projects. The studio grows consistently over time and is awarded SEGD Design Awards in 2006 and 2007.Projects of note include; The City of Miami Beach Wayfinding Program, Princeton Public Library, New York City Health and Hospital Sign Standards, University of Alaska, Anchorage Wayfinding Program and Downtown Dallas Wayfinding Program.
