My recent experience has been mainly working for the IMF as a short-term expert on tax compliance. I have also completed a number of consultancies for international tax administrations regarding their tax compliance practices. These experiences include:- a number of recent virtual assignments for tax administrations in Pakistan, Yemen, Armenia, Maldives, Mongolia and Saudi Arabia on compliance risk management and managing international tax issues.- work in Jordan, China, Moldova, Georgia, Sri Lanka, India, Ukraine, Albania and Mongolia on a range of tax administration compliance matters. These included assisting with large tax office approaches; high wealth individuals, tax investigations, conducting training; enhancing tax risk and audit programs eg tax risk identification, how to do audits, how to understand a large business, what tax issues to focus on; audit manuals, and quality assurance.- work in Montenegro assisting with their tax advice program.- updating the ATO’s major case study used for training their officers in complex compliance work.- writing a number of studies and manuals on tax auditing best practice - especially with a focus on large businesses-conducted tax training on compliance practices in Australia and Internationally - India (compliance risk program - 5 modules); China (several times), Malaysia, Myanmar.- writing tax articles on compliance practice for Romania tax office and Lesotho accounting organization- published a paper on the tax implications of e-commerce / digitalization; - conducted transfer pricing training.-working in Indonesia for 5months in 2015 & 2016 assisting DG of Tax on Enterprise level risk management- a number of risk management roles - setting up risk approaches for tax and compliance at a number of levels (eg enterprise, operational and tactical).
