This involved writing test plans and final test reports, as well as testing the bug fix releases and writing release notes.- Organisation and management of Rapid Remedies for customers that were in need of urgent fixes.- Organise and run bug review meetings and final bug reviews prior to product release for major product releases.- Electronic software product release to manufacturing. Including allocation of part numbers for software components and building software kits via a Product Data Management system.- Maintain departmental procedures, coupled with the software department. Test Automation scripts stored in Visual Source Safe (Microsoft).- Raising and controlling engineering part numbers (PDM systems x2) for software releases, software kits and IQ/OQ documentation.- From the previous role I continued generating new, introducing, developing and maintaining IQ/OQ documentation for local site products.

Most of the responsibilities from the previous role were carried forward and in addition....- Major role in implementation of a global Installation Qualification and Operation Qualification (IQ/OQ) project. This involved a presentation in the USA of how we operated in UK/Europe and what the rules and regulatory requirements were for such documentation. The outcome was the design of a new template with an embedded macro to enable customer specific details to be included in each ordered document. A whole new global process was put in place for the issue and generation of customer specific IQ/OQs.- Involved in a planning group for the next generation IR spectroscopy software package. This included specifying, planning and verification of the implementation of compliance with the FDA Rule 21 CFR part 11 (for Electronic Records and Electronic Signatures), into a new product and retrospective design into an existing product.- Involvement in the design of Help files and customer manuals.- Writing of help documentation for test software used by Service Engineers in the field.

- Specify, plan, test and validate data collection and report presentation routines for new instrument validation software included in an update of Spectrum software (for infrared data collection and processing). This tied in with the development and introduction of a new and highly successful infrared spectrometer (Spectrum One).- Testing of instrument communications and data collection for a new spectrometer.- Maintenance of a spectroscopy software validation package when new process algorithms were added to the infrared software product.- Improvement, maintenance and implementation of IQ/OQ and IPV (PQ) documentation for customer consumption as part of their regulatory requirements. This became a major part of the role as the R&D department acquired ultraviolet, fluorescence and polarimetry products into their portfolio.
