Currently employed as Senior Survey Engineer / Lead Mobilisation Engineer, mobilising Ocean Infinities new Armada fleet out in Vietnam. Workscope involves the termination & connnection of all Survey System interconnections (Ethernet, FIber SM & MM, Co-Ax, Pwr & Serial Data), installation set up, testing & comissioning of all Survey sensors and equipment. This further involves the checking of all equipment when it arrives on board, updating the equipment inventory and ensuring all drawings and relevnat documents are updated, wiring diagrams. Report writing for vessel comissioning and liasing with the Armada Fleet Survey Mobilisation Superintendants. The Armada fleet will comprise of 23 fully autonmous vessels with the ROV's and Geotechincal and Survey Suites operated and controlled from global control centers.

Schiedam, South Holland, Netherlands

Currently employed as SUPO Asset ERS Manager / Senior Survey Engineer at ERS Schiedam the Netherlands, primary role is survey and positioning engineering support to SUPO Asset, Saipems survey and positioning equipment department we provide the company with all Survey and Positioning equipment whether this be from our own pool of equipment or rental from international vendors. This role is multi-faceted and can range from the correct selection of equipment with the project surveyor for upcoming projects to assisting in fault finding equipment and providing a liaison between the survey team and equipment manufacturers / vendors ensuring that replacement equipment and spares are sourced and available to ensure survey operations continue unhindered. This coupled with supporting the Equipment Manager in their role proves for a very challenging role. Support includes the research of new equipment and the development of legacy equipment to ensure our department is a front runner in providing a complete solution in a reliable, cost effective and timely manner. The role requires a good knowledge and understanding of international shipping and customs regulations, including Dual Use equipment under the Wassenar agreement, UN Classifications and correct HS Codes for shipping of dangerous goods and the nuances that each country has for the import and export of sensitive equipment and instruments.Further to this, I am responsible for managing the Workshop team’s day to day activities and workflow to ensure our asset equipment is utilised to its full potential, assessing, and planning the use of department budgets to invest in new technology and update vessel systems. This role encompasses being the link between the workshop team and the rest of the company as a whole to ensure cohesion between departments and a seamless service from our department when providing equipment, technical support and advice to our multinational survey teams on our vessels across the globe.

Currently employed as Base Engineer /Equipment planner at ERS Schiedam in the Netherlands, my main role is engineering support to our offshore fleet during subsea construction and survey operations world wide. This can range from assisting in fault finding a vast range of equipment to providing a liaison between the Survey team and equipment manufacturers to ensure that replacement equipment and spares are sourced and available to ensure Survey operations continue. This coupled with supporting the Equipment Manager in their role proves for a very challenging role. Support includes the research of new equipment and the development of legacy equipment to ensure our department is a front runner in providing a complete Survey solution in a reliable, cost effective and timely manner.My secondary role within my new position is as department HSE advisor and this has led to me begin studying my NEBOSH General Certificate in HSE, this will enable me to support and advise our teams in the best course of action with any of their HSE concerns. This role involves liaising with the companies HSE department to ensure our teams are working to the companies HSE policy and more importantly safely. This new dual roles is most certainly the most challenging role I have ever taken and is proving to be most rewarding as the department moves forward.

Saipem S7000 Sscv

Currently assigned to the S7000 SSCV Construction vessel, primary duty is to maintain all survey equipment on board, this ranges from subsea positioning equipment, IxBlue Gaps, Kongsberg Hipap C-Node Beacons), IxBlue Equipment including Octans Gyro (Surface and Subsea), PHINS. Meridian gyros, RTS Gen 5 Multiplexer system, Surface positioning systems Veripos LD 5 and LD 7 for DGNNS Gyro this also includes the set up and interfacing of ROV instruments to the Survey suite. All survey equipment ranging from the PC's on the survey suite and all assosiciated network components, fibre optics, RS232/422, Ethernet and power supplies, operating and updating NaviPac, Gaps MMI software and all associated survey software, logistics of all survey equipment and report writing when required, this could be fault reports, daily occurrence reports, incident reports etc. S7000 is a heavy lift construction vessel carrying out a range of activities currently on the Hornsea HOW 01 campaign working for Orsted in water depths of 20/30m with currents hitting 2.5 knots, this poses its own unique problems wiht sub sea positioning and the ROV's. The vessel has a full season of work in the North Sea and will be carrying out tasks ranging from jacket and top side installations to decommissioning work.

Rotterdam Netherlands

Currently assigned to the Saipem S7000 Heavy lift and Construction Semi Submersible. Primary role and duties are to monitor and maintain the Survey suite onboard. This includes set up and interfacing of Surface Positioning, Sub Sea Positioning (USBL & LBL), Network (Ethernet, Fibre Optic and Wi Fi), Telemetry systems for data and Video, Navigation Software (NaviPac, Fusion, GAPS), Video recording software (Visual Soft) and various ancillary programs for the testing, set up and interfacing of various instruments for data collection and survey positioning. Secondary duties include ensuring all equipment is within calibration, updating and compiling the equipment inventory, carrying out planned and unplanned preventative maintenance on the system, composing and compiling fault reports, field memos and assisting the Party Chief with report writing and standing in for the online surveyor during meal times or when they are required for dimensional control work. Tertiary duties include assisting the dimensional control surveyor, ensuring the base engineers are forwarded all relevant documentation and liaising as and when required with vessel management and clients with regards to project equipment. I am also heavily involved in the HSE aspects with regards to the Survey section on board the S7000, ensuring that we work in accordance with Saipem corporate policy for HSE and furthermore ensuring our team works safely and maintains a pro active attitude.

Saipem S3000 Hlv/Construction Vessel

Currently assigned to the S3000 HLV/Construction vessel, primary duty is to maintain all survey equipment on board, this ranges from subsea positioning equipment, Sonardyne LBL 6/5G, Kongsberg Hipap, IxBlue Equipment including Octans Gyro (Surface and Subsea), ROVINS, Ramses. Meridian gyros, Sonardyne Sprint and Lodestar, this also includes the set up and interfacing of ROV instruments to the Survey suite. All survey equipment ranging from the PC's on the survey suite and all assosiciated network components, fibre optics, RS232/422, Ethernet and power supplies, operating and updating NaviPac, Fusion and Sprint software and all associated survey software, logistics of all survey equipment and report writing when required, this could be fault reports, daily occurrence reports, incident reports etc. S3000 is a heavy lift construction vessel carrying out a range of activities Plet, Riser, Spool piece, Pipe lay, Umbilicals, Metrologies, Pre and Post lay survey, Pre-Comm and many more subsea construction tasks, working in shallow or deep water, the vesssel is also capale of carrying out Metrologies utilising already in place arrays or deplyoing and calibrating an array. During my time on the S3000 I have completed several full Metrolgies to coincide with construction work carried out by the S3000. Currently working in the Egina Field Nigeria having completed Phase 1 late last year and subsequently working on Kaombo, East and West Hub in Angola.

Aberdeen Uk

Currently assigned to the Saipem S7000 Heavy lift and Construction Semi Submersible. Initial role is to internalise the Survey System to Saipem Survey, this includes desiging, planning, installing and testing of the Survey suite, all ancillary equipment and software, this also includes ensuring that all the equipment required for the vessel to carry out operations is procurred and tested before shipping to the vessel, ensuring all Survey documentation and Work Instructions are in place. Once the Survey Suite is installed and tested I will then revert back to my primary duties as Senior Survey Engineer. These include the maintenance and repair of the newly Installed Survey Suite and all relevenat equipment, ensuring that all equipment is calibrated and ready for use, logistics of orders, data management. Compiling reports for faulty equipment, incident reports, day to day survey log and all other survey related reports. Equipment and Software to be used includes Kongsberg HiPap 501, Octans Gyro/Mru units, Meridian Gyro, Seamesh and Satel Radio Modems, Sonardyne 6G Beacons, Kongsberg C-Node Beacons, Gyro/Hdg unit for installation on jackets, Valeport SX2, Valeport Midas (Valeport processing software), Visualsoft video recording back up and editing system and software, NaviPac Software, Microsoft Windows, Spectra Total Station, AutoCad, Beyond Compare data back up, Cisco Switches, KVM Remote Keyboard/Mouse untis, Moxa Nport, Moxa Fibre to Ethernet converters for the single mode fibre optic network, APC Uniteruptable power supply units, maintaining the Survey Network and adding/removing eqiuiment as and when required. My Secnondary role on baord is to support the Survey Party Chief and provide cover for the Party Chief while off shift, this includes attending meetings, and ensuring all survey related tasks are carried out IAW Saipem procedures.

Currently assigned to the Castoro II Pipelay and Construction Barge. Initial role is to internalise the Survey System to Saipem Survey, this includes desiging, planning, installing and testing of the Survey suite, all ancillary equipment and software, this also includes ensuring that all the equipment required for the vessel to carry out operations is procurred and tested before shipping to the vessel, ensuring all Survey documentation and Work Instructions are in place. Once the Survey Suite is installed and tested I will then revert back to my primary duties as Senior Survey Engineer. These incude the maintenance and repair of the newly Installed Survey Suite and all relevenat equipment, ensuring that all equipment is calibrated and ready for use, logistics of orders, data management. All survey equipment ranging from the PC's on the survey suite and all assosiciated network components, fibre optics, 232, Ethernet and power supplies, operating and updating NaviPac, Fusion and Sprint software and all associated software, logistics of all survey equipment and report writing when required, this could be fault reports, daily occurrence reports, incident reports etc. S3000 is a heavy lift construction vessel carrying out a range of activities Plet, Riser, Spool piece, Pipe lay, Umbilicals and many more subsea construction tasks, working in shallow or deep water, the vesssel is also capale of carrying out Metrologies utilising already in place arrays or deplyoing and calibrating and array. During my time on the S3000 I have completed several full Metrolgies to coincide with construction work acrried out by the S3000. These Metrolges where for projects In West Africa working in the Kizomba field and Girri fields.

Saipem

Castoro 7 pipe lay barge, main role is to maintain the the survey spread on board. Equipment ranges from Tug Management Systems, Gaps USBL, telemetry radios for data of two RoVs, PC's and all other onboard survey equipment. Software updates for Navipac, GAPs and all ancillary software, virus protection, Windows etc. Also required when needed to assist both the surveyor and party chief in the day to day running of the survey team.

Leidschendam. Netherlands

Operating and maintaining all aspects of Survey equipment on board Geo-technical positioning vessels. Operating and maintaining LBL equipment (Sonardyne 5/6G). GPS positioning for anchor spreads on Oil Rigs, Anchor handling vessels and Barges. This includes completing reports for position, sound velocity profiles, final location and water depths. Maintaining the computer network and instruments on board this ranges from daily maintenance to fault rectification on the survey system network, cables and connectors and survey instruments, this also includes fault rectification and maintenance of sub sea equipment ranging from LBL/USBL Compatts to Gyros, Sector and Side Scan and all Subsea survey equipment.Carrying out sound velocity profiles and final location reports for Geo-Technical drill crews.Working to stringent offshore Health and Safety standards and quality control policies.Liaising with both clients and the ships crew to achieve the best possible results and working in austere climates at sea.

Carry out first line repairs on reconnaissance aircraft and all related systems, electrical power distribution, fuel gauging and flow, engine control, radar, weather radar, communications suite, lighting, flying controls, auto pilot and all other electrical systems.Also responsible for planning maintenance tasks and mentoring juniors technicians, compiling reports and ensuring aircraft paperwork is up to date and to the correct standard. Managing a shift of 12 technicians and standing in for the senior engineer when needed. Often deploying to austere locations to support aircraft operations.Health and safety was a vital component of the day to day operations of the Squadrons and all work had to be carried out under the correct regulations be this Coshh, Health and safety at work act 1974, permits to work, working at heights and all aspects of H&S.

Responsible for preventative maintenance on a wide range of machinery in a large engineering plant, this ranged from CNC/DNC and manual lathes, millers, grinders, gear cutters and drills. Also including heat treatment and phosphate plant equipment.Also responsible for fault finding and repairing all the above equipment under tight time constraints to ensure production of components continued.Health and safety and working to Coshh regulations at all times.
