I will always consider John a friend just for the simple act of kindness he showed to me during a time in my life that was very difficult. After John left Infinium we kept in touch. During 2001 my wife of 27 years was battling cancer, a battle she eventually lost. John and I had talked and he knew that my wife would be at Emory Hospital for a major surgery. John was going to be traveling all week on business with his current company, a company we did not do business with. On a Friday night I sat in the waiting room at Emory while my wife under went surgery. It was very late and other family members had left, as my wife had come out of surgery fine and was in the recovery room, so I was waiting alone. John had returned late that night and after leaving the Atlanta airport and before seeing his own family after a week of travel, he stopped by Emory. Emory is not an easy hospital to get to and certainly not on his way home. Well John came by with a bag of cookies and a pint of milk. One cannot put a value to someone who extends kindness as John did. I have not seen or talked to John in years, but he will always remain a special person to me.
