I led the assurance and evaluation activity of the groundbreaking SuDS retrofit programme.Designed the approach to intervention performance monitoring working with Sheffield University, Liverpool University and monitoring partners Metasphere and Detectronic.Supported development of SuDS template designs with the inclusion and trialling of products including a modified SEL flow control chamber. Designed the downpipe planter trial at the Coal Authority head office.Designed the Ofwat assurance programme - leading 2 successful APR reporting and audit rounds.

I worked with member Rivers Trusts across the UK to build the capacity and capability of the excellent, growing movement for the benefit of communities and ecosystems.Secured £1million+ funding for member Trust projects.Helped establish the Great Ouse Rivers Trust.Led development of new water company collaboration with Anglian Water (focussed on sustained Trust partnerships) Thames Water (focussed on holistic CaBA host support) and Southern Water (focussed on treatment wetland delivery).Led the development of a new family of Communities of Practice, leading the Health and Safety and CDM CoP.Developed a new training programme for staff across the movement.

I led a team with accountability for projects delivering Severn Trent's vision for Smart Networks and Effluent Factories. We worked in partnership with academic and business partners to demonstrate and integrate new technologies from water efficient toilets to anaerobic wastewater treatment.My team developed Model Areas for water supply and waste treatment including the £5 million wastewater test facility - the Resource Recovery and Innovation Centre - at Spernal Sewage Treatment Works https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9IaZpuVVgdQ

I was brought into Severn Trent, on secondment from the Environment Agency, to lead an ambitious collaboration between Severn Trent Water, Birmingham City Council and the EA.The project's aim was to create an urban demonstrator which combines proven and innovative measures within an urban catchment to improve the management of drinking and surface water whilst delivering health and biodiversity benefits for the surrounding community.The project delivered innovative community engagement leading to reduced Per Capita Consumption, SuDS designs for the local community and a small scale SuDS demonstrator. Lack of funding - as austerity bit - and subsequent decline in partnership support led to project closure.My role then evolved to help shape the new Innovation function and processes at Severn Trent Water.

Ea Midlands Region

Led the MURCI Waters (Midlands Urban Rivers Community Initiative) programme - a 2 year, £1million+ project addressing the causes of diffuse pollution in our urban catchments.

Worked with industry falling under the Environmental Permitting and COMAH regimes.Helped business reduce their impact on local communities and the wider environment.Worked with colleagues from HSE and industry on the remodelled COMAH regime.Developed new Environment Agency flood guidance for regulated business.

Worked to improve water quality and protect the watercourses flowing through greater Nottingham.
