Associate Engineer
Current• Developed experimental plans and operated pilot plants for hydroprocessing/hydrockracking experiments, interpret data, and present that data to interested parties and senior engineers. These experiments were done to establish unbiased data with regards to catalyst function and allow refineries to choose the appropriate catalyst based on current industrial needs. These experiments were of great monetary value to the refineries.• Maintained strong contributions to the Fouling Science team by working to create Asphaltene Stability models and Asphaltenic Compatibility models. This project expected to make $600,000 in the processing of atmospheric residues to be used in the refining process.• Self-initiated a research and development study to determine the effects of additives/dispersants to stabilize asphaltenes or reduce fouling propensity of opportunity crude.• Maintained ownership of analytical instrumentation while taking lead on projects and presenting data to key stakeholders. Served as the single point of contact to coordinate analytical testing for various projects. • Enhanced leadership and presentation experience by facilitating meetings with company leaders, including Senior Vice Presidents and major stakeholders.• Developed leadership skills by taking a Preparing to Lead course, a by-nomination leadership training course for future leaders. Peer Mentoring Circle, a year-long leadership skill building, and career development program. Volunteered for a 2-year role as Chairperson for a Facilities Sub-Committee which deals with safety-related work request prioritization, tracking, and input to site facilities management. Volunteered to be a Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) observer for the Naperville facility. The role is to observe people performing a task and have a meaningful discussion afterwards as to what safety related issues were observed, if any.
