John Broadhead is a Tech Due Diligence at CTO Labs. He possess expertise in business process, business process design, stakeholder management, itil, operating models and 18 more skills. John is Tyro’s sole Enterprise Architect and he came on-board at a time when we didn’t have much in terms of Architectural Principles, Architectural Roadmaps, Governance, Inventory or program management. Culturally there was some resistance to the idea of an Enterprise Architect as (at the time) there weren’t great insights into the value that an EA can bring. That changed fairly quickly however. In just his first few weeks I had several senior technical staff and managers come to me to tell me how helpful John had been in terms of putting structure around their projects and in particular surfacing an enormous amount of information in a digestible format for consumption for parties such as APRA and the board. John is an extremely strong and personable collaborator. He had no trouble in reaching out across the organisation to bring various parties together in order to put together the architectural artefacts required. He did an amazing job of mapping technical assets to our business capabilities and in doing so shed light on risks that up until that point in time we didn’t realise we had. Aside from his strong technical knowledge and experience with enterprise architecture and governance, John was instrumental in bringing the various solution architects together from the various tribes. They worked cohesively as a group with John providing a great rallying cry as well as facilitation and structure. On a personal level John is friendly and easy going.
