I believe a business must stay responsive to its clients, reflect their passions, and respect their goals. I was asked by many of my clients to narrow the focus of Jefferson Capital and intensify my efforts by focusing on just three activities: (1) client and tax professional education using the tax code to build a safe and successful for path to achieving their goals, (2) direct consultation arising from that education and (3) more one-on-one and very personal involvement with my clients as they followed that safe and personal path to success...the achievement of their goals.In order to do this, I let go of the wider focus of Jefferson Capital Solutions, Inc. and created John C. Brooke, Inc. to succeed with my client's requests. I also added new strategic partners in line with these changes.This is new chapter and a continuation of intensity, focus and effort beginning in July 1, 1975 when I joined the professional staff of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and started my journey as a CPA.While much will stay the same between Jefferson Capital and John C. After leaving the public practice of accounting and portfolio management in December of 2007, I continued to provide advance marketing services to life insurance agencies and agents, served as a consultant (tax strategy, financial probabilities, and strategic planning), spoke at real estate seminars (on tax issues), authored a tax book (special real estate tax considerations temporarily given to the victims of Katrina and other hurricanes in the southern part of the United States), and spoke on motivational topics.

I started my CPA firm in the Phoenix, Arizona area after leaving Peat Marwick. The firm focused on tax and business strategy, tax compliance, and federal audit representation growing to encompass clients located primarily in northern Mexico and in the western United States. Another material focus of the practice was providing advanced marketing services to insurance companies, agencies, agents, and clients. During this time, I received various security registrations, including RIA, and obtained insurance licenses in various states.In December of 2007, I voluntarily retired from public accounting and portfolio management.

Peat Marwick was the best place to start my professional career. Being mentored by CPA’s with a great intellectual curiosity and a drive to solve problems for clients was a great start for my professional life. These mentors showed, by example, that technical knowledge was only important as it solved client’s problems and helped them achieve their goals.
