Multiple roles: Originally joined the company to be part of the design team of Sentinel PRO to make a difference in the oil and gas sector, developing leading edge integrated safety software for controlling work, carrying out risk assessments and controlling isolations. Most recently Commercial Operations Manager responsible for preparation, quality and submission of Competitive Tenders / Proposals. Previously: Member of the Company Leadership Team. Training Operations Manager, responsible for a global technical training team and Training Centre involving a technical training team of 29 personnel delivering safety software and operations training to the oil and gas, petrochemical and rail sectors. Providing technical and operations training in the application and use of Petrotechnics Sentinel PRO and Proscient software. Training delivered worldwide and from our purpose built training centre in Aberdeen. Solutions Manager, responsible for discipline teams of 47 personnel supporting the configuration, testing, deployment and support of Sentinel PRO SSOW software.

Designed and set up an e-Learning open learning centre in the city of Doha to train multi-national personnel in Safe Systems of Work, e.g. Permits to Work, Confined Space Entry and Gas Testing. This was the first such centre in the country. As General Manager of this operation I was responsible for business development; budgets; financial accounting; tender preparation and new course design. After the venture reached steady state I returned to the UK office to manage urgent e-Learning projects there whilst still managing the Doha office from the UK.

Responsible for the business development of a new instrument and electrical section:• Responsible for design and building of a new E&I workshop complex• Tender evaluation, preparation, submission and subsequent project management• Introduced a training programme for all company personnel• Delivery of E&I maintenance services for clients

Responsible for META’s interests in the North East of Scotland. This role included:• Business development and advising clients on National Standards and competence• 50% time secondment to BP Exploration as member of their Core Competence Team• Training D32 & D33 Assessors and D34 Internal Verifiers• Externally verified client personnel against National Standards• Prepared assessment material

Special Projects Manager in the Saudi Arabia providing instrument and electrical maintenance services to oil and gas clients across in both Eastern and Western provinces.On return to the UK responsible for:• Financial: forecasting and preparation of budgets• Management of Training Centre and Training projects, planned and developed new courses• Training and development of staff• Relocated to Aberdeen in 1991 and at Clients request to manage the BP Exploration Technician Training Scheme contract. Established a new office and managed BP’s Training Centre and Technician Training Scheme with 105 trainees.
