John Buchanan, Chairman to the board of Invenium Holdings Ltd holds several key advisory and hands on positions within the group’s structure. Ideas are captured and developed into marketable products and solutions with the principle “We will find a way or make a way”. The technologies and solutions pass through a Beta development program with trusted Partners.

One of the Group Companies John works with is EcoBrook Ltd that channels innovative environmentally sustainable water products to the various markets. Currently the Company is licensed to manufacture and market products such as the Nanode™ range of electrochemical water conditioners, to be followed later by Ramjet™ self-cleaning filters. The Nanode™ technology is based on a unique method of liberating Nano-particles that reduces the volume of chemicals previously used to treat water.

John was Managing Director, joint owner and founder of ION Enterprises Ltd (Sold 2005) that developed the ION Scalebuster range of physical water conditioning products. The technology became a global success over a 20-year period with hundreds of thousands of conditioners sold. The product was successfully patented in more than 24 countries and has become an established technology having been adopted by Companies such as Siemens for its MRI Scanners (cooling system corrosion protection) through to McDonald’s franchises using it to reduce lime-scale problems in catering equipment. The Company purchasing his business went on to successfully acquire in excess of $25M growth Capital.

Having developed an aptitude towards product development, John’s ergonomic designs for mass catering establishments lead him into changing the whole concept of cooked food production in the UK. He founded Rational-Combi UK to supply a new generation of cooking appliances to early adopters and Blue Chip organisations such as Shell and well-known restaurants with Michelin Stars. John sold his business in 1987 to the Jefferson Smurfit Group whose current revenues are more than €5 billion. Today Rational AG products have boomed and are adopted in more than 85 countries, producing around 110 million meals every day with a world market share of 54%.
