The Hastings business was Westpac’s integrated global funds management business with unlisted and listed funds in infrastructure and property. The Westpac Diversified Property Fund (now Australian Unity’s Diversified Property Fund) was an open ended diversified unlisted property fund for retail investors sourced through Westpac’s financial planning and private bank customers. 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀As Director of Property, and member of the Senior Executive Group at Westpac’s Specialised Capital Group (SCG) and thereafter with Hastings Funds Management (Hastings), my role had shared accountability for business growth and progression, strategy, and investment product development.𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄Management of the $354M open ended unlisted property fund including 53% Industrial, 24% Office, 23% Retail. Responsibilities included investment team leadership, fund strategy, investment performance, investor relations, people management, and governance and risk. 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀(details on request)✓ For 4 years from Sep 2006 to 2010, WDPF was the top performing Australian diversified property fund delivering +4.6%p.a., strongly outperforming all peer funds.✓ Successfully oversaw the progression of strategic portfolio growth and diversification with 5 assets acquired, growing the portfolio to 14 assets by Jun 2010. ✓ In 2011, following Hastings’ sale of the WDPF fund management rights to Australian Unity, the fund became the first Australian unlisted diversified property fund for retail investors to raise new equity and reinstate investor liquidity post the GFC.𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀Strategic Planning • Stakeholder Engagement • Leadership • Business Development • Commercial Acumen • People Management • Decision Maker • Trusted Advisory
