Associate within the Private Equity & Real Assets division of Sciens Capital, with a primary focus on energy sector real asset investment opportunities. Lead analyst on ~$400m mid-stream energy transaction, conducting financial analysis including transactional comps analysis, production, supply and storage analysis, futures & options pricing review, power generation & LNG analysis.Assisted in development of fundraising & marketing materials for two new funds. Articulated infrastructure private equity investment thesis, track record, new fund investment targets with in-depth analysis on energy platform opportunities

Part of the newly formed Corporate Strategy Research and Economics team, designed to provide financial and economic analysis for Leighton Holdings. As the organisation moved to a true Holdings company, a review of all assets was undertaken, across multiple countries and industries to determine strategic/financial fit for the company.

Telecommunications & Utilities sector of the Australian Equities Research. • Key member of Pan-Asian Telecommunications analyst division, and Australian Utilities team, reporting to senior analysts in Sydney and Hong Kong.• Detailed financial modelling of corporations; includes combining industry modelling of the Australian telecommunications sector, and the electricity and gas utilities sector. This has involved collaboration with the international telecommunications analysts to prepare international comparative analysis, as well as working with the Oil and Gas and Commodities teams to model the upstream assets and generation sector. • Preparation of research reports that are published and delivered to clients globally. Includes three initiations whilst a member of the team, and associated marketing of the product• Industry and company research and analysis of the Telecommunications and Utility sectors in Australia and New Zealand, and international markets, as well as company-specific research identifying core competitive advantages and weaknesses. • Interactions with clients, research sales and traders to promote and broker research, through face to face, email and phone interactions. Includes presenting new research at the daily Research Sales meeting.• Completion of the Morgan Stanley Analysts Internship program, as well as the Research Associates training, culminating in a week long Hong Kong Training course in June 2011.Key Achievement: With senior analyst, prepared an equity initiation in an expanded Australian Utilities portfolio. Required collaboration with the Energy Research team to prepare a comprehensive analysis of the Australian oil and gas market, and the international supply/demand framework within which the Australian corporation was placed. Also included an expanded analysis of the New Zealand energy markets.

Quantitative Equities Research, Sydney (concurrent with university studies)• Management of data quality control for the Oracle database, as well as assisting to maintain and improve the database for the purpose of Quantitative Research. This involved learning the database language to apply accounting knowledge to ensure accurate replication of the analyst forecasts.• Developing and maintaining new database systems to automate previously manual processes (usually data quality checks previously performed by both quantitative and sector analysts). Key Achievement: As a conduit between Quantitative Research and Sector Analysts, developed quantitative screens to select equities where both the analyst model suggested upside equity performance, and the stock performed well on the developed quantitative metrics. Then prepared a research report to disseminate this information. This research was published through the Quantitative Research division.

Accountant, Business Services Division (concurrent with university studies)• Supported Senior Partner in developing internal procedures and management structures for this new accounting services firm. Involved assisting new staff with integration into the firm, and training three graduate staff members.• Ownership of high net wealth, and small to medium business clients for tax and accounting preparation, including tax and corporate structure advice. • Audit preparation

Cadetship program, Enterprise Advisory Services division (concurrent with university studies). • Preparation of statutory financial reports, tax reports and compliance documents for small to medium enterprises and high net wealth individuals. Involved liaison with clients on a regular basis to discuss tax preparation and planning. • Audit projects.Key Achievement: Within 12 months, was given ownership over a major client, a US multinational with Australian domiciled subsidiary. The client required monthly accounts and key expense reconciliations prepared involving liaisons with local staff to analyse profit and loss accounts. Regular monthly videoconferencing with US management was held to discuss the performance and key issues of the subsidiary.
