Global Network Incident Manager

May 2018 - Jul 2020

Solutions Architect

Baltimore, Maryland, United States

Data Center Design and Installation, Next Generation Firewall Support, Disaster Recovery for the ALU/Nokia Account. Worked with my peers to design and implement new Disaster Recovery Platform in the DXC Data Center. We used and 7750 Router and 6850 LAN switch to setup Static NAT in the Data Center so that we can statically NAT all of the Production Networks in the redundant Data Centers. We then use HP C7000 Enclosures and we tag all the VLANs to the production interfaces. This allows the Server Team to configure a new Blade or Virtual Machine in the Enclosure to duplicate any host in the DC. We then move from the DR VLAN which they use to configure and test the new Blade to the Production VLAN using Virtual Connect and they have a new production machine to replace the machine impacted by the disaster. We also built a new Data Center as part of a real estate project in a 2000 square foot cage. We have 160 Servers in the cage in 5 rows of cabinets we used custom home run cables to avoid patch panels and the need for infrastructure wiring. We decided to color code the cabling with different colors for the production, admin, and backup networks. We also have console access for all servers. We had to get this setup in 1 week and we pulled this off. DXC can build a DC very quickly off site but close enough to meet the latency requirements of Clear Case environments, we did this with dark fiber and redundant 10Gig uplinks. We are replacing the 9000 series ALU Chassis with 6900s. The power and cost associated with the chassis versus the 6900s is huge.
