This is a pastoral role within a local primary school.

Based in Atherton, Greater Manchester, this was a self-employed role working with individuals and couples on a range of personal issues.In addition to traditional talking therapy, I also provided therapeutic coaching to aid clients in becoming more self-aware and to assist them in finding new positive coping strategies for the future.

This role involved the provision of one-to-one and group mentoring services to young people with behavioural problems and vulnerable young people/adults. The service worked to empower them and improve their lives in an emotional, mental and social capacity. In addition to being a mentor, I was also a member of the management team with responsibility for I.T. and Data Protection.

This role involved overall responsibility for all Infrastructure and Support areas of the divisions IT. During this time the Infrastructure and support team grew from 3 to 13 staff and the server estate grew from around 6 to 270 servers with a high percentage of virtualisation employed to reduce costs.

The main focus of this role was to improve internal service levels and bring structure and governance to operating processes within a small but expanding IT team.

Delivered IT System support to school administrators within the South London area.

During my regular military service my main role was as a trunk and data communications specialist although I also undertook other military roles including intelligence analysis and coordination. My regular service also included a 10 month operational attachment to a Guards Battalion. Prior to joining the Army on a full time basis in 1985, I served for 16 months as a Combat Engineer within the Territorial Army.
