John C Carpenter is a virtuoso classical pianist and international competition winner with a lifetime of performing experience, specializing in Romantic and Contemporary music. He is gifted with tremendous innate facility and spontaneous musicality combined with an extremely solid technical foundation. He also teaches and coaches many students. In 2018 he won First Prize in Alexander Peskanov's international competition, "Immortal and Living Composers".He also is a Programmer/Announcer on WAIF Radio in Cincinnati, Ohio, a publicly funded station, and is Board Chairperson of The Real Stepchild Radio of Cincinnati One, which runs WAIF. He has done dozens of voiceovers for the station, and had online training with an English voiceover actor.Examples of his piano playing are on Youtube under name John C Carpenter.Performances include 3 at New York's famed Carnegie Hall, including a Winner's Concert in 2018, also at the NAMM Convention in Anaheim, and with the combined Olympia and Cal State Los Angeles Orchestras, Dayton Philharmonic, Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center, NY Beethoven Festival, Southern Vermont Art Center, McGraw Hill Young Artist's Showcase on WQXR, on WOR with Joe Franklyn, Kalamazoo Bach Festival, The Aronoff Center with the Cincinnati Ballet, Bach Association of Cincinnati Ohio, Matinee Musicale in Cincinnati, Schmitt Music Center Minneapolis, " Music From Latvia" syndicated radio program, on WAIF, WGUC, and benefit concerts. Also 10 years performing at weekly Church services and many more.Awards: Winner of Intercontinental Piano Competition, NYC Artist/Pro Division, and Peskanov Composer's Award First Prize; Silver Medal, International Piano Recording Competition: Won Kalamazoo Bach Festival Young Artist Competition: Won University of Connecticut Concerto Competition: Merit Scholarship Manhattan School of Music: Full Scholarship and Teaching Assistantship at College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, and a special Memorial Scholarship, also at CCM.He hosts the "Music Making Together" program on WAIF Radio, 88.3 FM in Cincinnati and online at Waifradio.org, Mondays, 8-10 pm Eastern time, where he discusses success and community involvement and plays great, mostly Classical, music.He holds the Artist's Diploma in Piano, College-Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati.
