I am an engineer who most recently worked in commercial airplane export compliance. I attended the US Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry & Security 'Complying with US Export Regulations' course. I reviewed engineering reports, standards, presentations, and other documents to ensure proper export classification and marking. I also helped engineers understand International Traffic In Arms and Export Administration Regulations.I do the Seattle Times puzzles to keep my mind sharp.I wish to continue my career in the flight test engineering/operations, airport administration, and export compliance business in a local Puget Sound aerospace organization. To that end, I have recently read my college orbital mechanics textbook and am reading Buzz Aldrin's M.I.T. Ph.D. dissertation on orbital rendezvous. Also, I have been watching Great Courses videos on algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and other mathematics topics.Majority of my experience in flight test operations - test aircraft configuration control, test directing, in-flight weights engineer, test planning, briefing, reporting - for several aerospace companies and on commercial airliner, business jet, and military jet programs. Also, have experience writing test plans to meet FARs, recording hand-written data, flight test data analysis, and writing certification reports. Served as PIC of several flights practicing flight test maneuvers in single-engine airplanes. Professional experience is supplemented by personal flight training including several multi-day, cross-country flights both solo and as part of a crew in single-engine airplanes.Specialties: Export compliance; spatial integration; warranty compliance; flight test operations; configuration control; test directing; process and project management.Previously volunteered with the Boy Scouts and Seattle Public Library.PRIOR RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:Flight Test Engineer, Cessna Aircraft Company, wrote test plans, flight and ground test, analyzed test data, wrote test reports, 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25, worked with test pilots, design engineers, instrumentation engineers, company executives to test turboprop aircraft and business jets.Test and Evaluation Engineer, The Boeing Company, commercial airplane test aircraft configuration, in-flight weight and balance engineer, first aid safety focal. Both positions: required constant cross-functional collaboration to accomplish tests; required complex forward thinking, decision making, and contingency planning for frequent last minute changes; and, use of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
