• Magnetic Insight, Inc is a biomedical startup that is commercializing Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI), a next generation tracer imaging technology.• Oversaw the engineering, software, translational research, quality, and preclinical operations teams.• As head of engineering, directly managed the development of the first-in-human (FIH) clinical investigation device and the commercial device design project.• Executive sponsor and head of engineering for the clinical investigation project. • Managed reagent and consumables production and process engineering of a $1.8M cost center with 17 FTEs.• Led the team through the largest consumables expansion in company history; revenue grew from $3.9M in 2013 to $9M in 2014.• Introduced two new product lines on the Simple Western platform.• Led multiple quality task forces to address major quality defects. These cross-functional teams investigated customer complaints, determined root causes, engineered solutions, and quickly rolled out improvements into production.

• Conceptualized, managed, designed, assembled, and documented a manufacturing tool that processes and packages the primary instrument consumable.• Designed subsystems, interfaced with manufacturing, and managed vendors for first and second generation analytical instruments.• Developed and manufactured breadboard devices to assist scientists with biological R&D.

• Lead design engineer for an opto-mechanical laser system on a second-generation time of flight mass spectrometer (TOF-MS).• Designed and implemented subsystems for a production TOF-MS instrument, including a laser opto-mechanical system, electronics enclosures, and a high voltage vacuum chamber motion system.
