Organized a cooperative whose functions involve mobilizing savings strategies and extendingcredit services to agricultural stakeholders, and led its pre-registration to the Cooperative Development authority.MCC is a primary cooperative initially organized by Rural Finance and Cooperatives majors from the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics (DAAE). Its main objectives revolve around mobilizing savings strategies and financing the business operations of its members whose livelihoods involve the agricultural supply chain (i.e., farmers, retailers, etc,). The key features of the cooperative include a unique savings model that involve the adoption of modified stash banking accounts — the most important aspect of inducing consistent savings — and engagement in two-sided equity financing schemes that allow the cooperative to invest in local businesses while taking in investments through Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares.
