I was retained by two agriculture-related clients to primarily write and distribute press releases and articles for publication for the media and internal social media sites.

This is a site I’ve established about Australian agribusiness, a hugely important sector of the economy. The aim of establishing it is to explore in some depth – in features and analysis – the main issues confronting this key sector. Responsible for the overall financial performance of Victorian Agricultural Media and its various assets. Played a key role in developing and leading Stock & Land’s centenary celebrations in 2014, which involved overseeing editorial components, a media campaign for ticket sales, developing sponsorship proposals and advertising packages to underwrite a dinner for 460 people, monthly advertising features and a special publication, which boosted revenue;Also led a significant restructure of the business, which resulted in major cost savings over the past three years as we moved production of the paper off-site;As well I led a relocation of the office and staff from Tullamarine to Media House (The Age) in the CBD in 2013; and boosted revenue by acquiring an existing quarterly tabloid newspaper Tasmanian Farmer from The Examiner in Launceston.

Was responsible for achievement of Stock & Land's sales revenue target through effective planning and performance of the team.Led an opportunity to offer property clients a bundled advertising package with Stock & Land, The Age’s Domain and Victorian edition of The Australian Financial Review;Led the launch of several new special publications and features to boost revenue;Coordinated a Win a Bull reader competition in early 2010, which won a PANPA (Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers' Association) award for best ad campaign for a client;Started a Victorian Rural Business Awards competition sponsored by Rural Finance, which ran for two years and brought in extra un-budgeted revenue.

Responsible for relieving Stock & Land editor and magazine editors when they were on leave and pursuing new business development opportunities and marketing opportunities to enhance readership of the publications.

Wrote and assigned content for the paper, managed editorial team and introduced new readership initiatives aimed at increasing circulation.Key outcomes included assisting in redesign of the paper from the outset; presided over a net paid circulation increase of 1685 copies a week from 2001 until 2004 to 12,303; managing an editorial staff of 10, who took out several rural journalism awards; begining new editorial sections and implemented new reader initiatives; and managing reader competitions and sponsorships.
