I’m a sports system re-designer and founder of Goalshark a sports brand created to change the perception of competition and how we compete in sports across the world.I believe there is a unique opportunity in todays world to educate and popularise innovative competition formats. Changing the nature of competition will change our children’s competitive behaviour. In turn I believe we can alter course and pursue team building formats to create a healthier environment in which to play. In a world in which our choice of competition in sport reflects our societal beliefs regarding competition, change must happen to build a better world to work learn and play in. ‘Winner takes all’ ‘dog eat dog’ and ‘survival of the fittest’ as well as ‘losing is part of life’ are unhealthy ideals we are choosing to pass on to our children. co-operation and team building is an important societal building block missing in sport. When we change the nature of competition we change behaviour, attitudes and participation levels in everything we do.
