I have been classed as a “Sr Designer” everywhere I’ve worked for the last 15 years, while that’s a nice title indicative of my 38 years experience, and would be a fair description of my AutoCAD/Cadworks/Software skills, with regards to my technical knowledge I would consider myself a high Level 3 or low Level 4 designer. I am considered a “Pipe Designer” by trade, but I also have equal experience in electrical and civil/structural drafting and design as I’ve spent the vast majority of my career in small companies or small groups that required me to fill many roles and take on tasks outsider of just doing “piping design”. Twenty five plus years of process design experience in the energy industry and two years in specialized manufacturing/semiconductor industry. Proven expertise in process flow sheet and piping and instrumentation diagram (P & ID) drafting and design. Heavy mechanical piping design (2D and 3D), as well as in structural and electrical drafting. Experience in process piping for waste products in microchip manufacturing facilities, product loading facilities (ship, barge, rail, and truck), custody transfer measurement, product and crude oil metering stations, meter proving systems, pump stations, above ground and underground storage facilities, electrical generating facilities, and natural gas compressor stations. Experience includes an overseas assignment participating in the creation and presentation of a feasibility study for an underground storage facility. Drafting and design expertise includes AutoCAD, CadWorx Piping and P & ID Packages, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, Microsoft Office programs, ProjectWise, Rockwell,and OneNote.
