Wight Trash is the Isle of Wight based skateboard and clothing company, which also has a shop in Ryde. We are heavily involved with Isle of Wight skate scene and put on events both at local skateparks and at festivals etc with our portable ramp set upOur skateboard team is one of the best and, I think, most creative in the U.K. and between us we've all been working very hard for these past few years on our 1st full length skateboarding video (titled 'YEAH WIGHT!') I am the owner and head coach at JCSC and teach over 250 students each week. Skateboarding totally changed my life. It's taken me around the world, introduced me to new friends, challenged me both mentally and physically but most importantly..... it's given me an incredible amount of fun. I've been lucky enough to have design input into the 2nd generation Ventnor Skatepark after the sea came over the revetment and broke it in 2 during a storm. It needed an A-TEAM style mission on it. The Ventnor Skatepark Support Group was formed and we, raised the ramp off the ground, put in drainage, and added a concrete seawall that protected the site and also doubled up as a skatepark obstacle. I am now drawing up plans for the new look Rookley skatepark with the help of Wight Building Materials, where we will add a concrete surface, and change the whole layout of the park to make it a fantastic new little park.
