Operation and maintenance at a large scale wind power plant

Supervise the electrical installation work performed by contractors on a large scale wind farm and ensure contractors perform as per project requirements, industry best practice and WP standards while complying with safety procedures and the schedule constraints of the project. Works to oversee include construction, installation and commissioning of a 33/400Kv substation, 33Kv overhead transmission lines and wind turbine generator connections.Objectives & Tasks include:o Monitor & oversee Contractors’ construction activities.o Monitor the quality of electrical work performed by the contractor.o Professionally maintain a paper trial for work being completed.o Participate in ensuring all work is conducted responsibly and safely.

o Determine operation parameters for equipment and systems.o Clean, maintain, and run unit equipment to optimize operating parameters.o Inspect, test, service and repair equipment to ensure working condition.o Assemble and install equipment for operation. o Monitor, operate and control equipment.o Manage spare parts and equipment inventory. o Document equipment operations for future use and traceability purposes through daily reporting procedures common to the area. o Converse with operator and contractor personnel about routine operating procedures and service related to equipment operation. o Prepare equipment maintenance reports.o Evaluate equipment installation to determine if equipment has been misapplied. o Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to complete equipment repairs.o Gather operating information to make necessary changes to optimize equipment performance.o Review reports to detect changes in system parameters.o Explain product function and tips on troubleshooting to customer and rig personnel.

o Designing of Motor Control Centres (MCC) and cable sizingo Preparation of detailed technical engineering design specifications, overall project design and material specifications especially for oil & gas industryo Conducting energy and safety audits, verifying &commissioning of electrical systemso Incident investigation and analysis and reporting.o Attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for power cabinets.o Assisting in coordination of field work, vetting of Sub-contractorso Ensuring all materials supplied for installation are tested to the specified standardso Assisting the Director in tracking and monitoring program of workso Vetting “As Built” drawings to the satisfaction of the Directoro Data collection and analysis through specialized instruments
