John Chen is the CEO and founder of JCHP Executive Search Sdn Bhd (in short “JC Search”), formed in 2011. JC Search is a retained executive search firm that focuses exclusively on mid to senior level management positions and provides HR consultation service for all aspects of the search process. Prior to this, John was the founder and partner of Foster Partners South East Asia, which he formed in 2001 until 2011. Foster Partners SEA had established itself as one of the leading executive search firm in the region. He started his career in the Advertising industry after graduation in 1985, as an Account Executive and very quickly moved up to Director of Client Service. His advertising career extended from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Shanghai, China where he was seconded by BBDO, a US based Omnicom Group agency. After leaving BBDO Shanghai, John spent a further 3 years in Shanghai with China’s largest Hollywood film distribution company, a foreign JV company, CAV Thakral Home Entertainment Ltd, firstly as the Marketing Director and a year later as Chief Operating Officer of their e-business division. He worked and lived in Shanghai as an expatriate for 4 years.John has over 25 years of vast and diverse hands-on experience in general management, operations, marketing and advertising with multi-national corporations retailing from fast-moving consumer products and including managing an e-commerce company. John graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, USA in 1985. He was inducted into the SIU-C College Of Business Hall Of Fame in 2008, the first foreign student to be conferred this honor.Specialties: We are search generalists, working in many fields as well as specialists in a few areas (financial services, insurance, banking, property management, construction, life sciences, automobile, consumer goods, manufacturing, and engineering).
