About John Childress

John T. Childress holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Rutgers University School of Business. John is certified trainer/facilitator in the Predictive Index, Balanced Scorecard, and Kauffman FastTrac.John began his career at age 20 by joining the Domino’s Pizza management program. He soon built and owned his own store and, in the process, became one of the first African American Franchisees in the 4,000-store chain. In 2007, John established Childress Business Consulting. CBC focuses on developing and implementing strategic solutions.In 2009, CBC was chosen by NYC Business Solutions to facilitate and train entrepreneurship to business executives through the Kauffman FastTrac program. Utilizing an interactive approach to engage participants, John has trained over 3,000 entrepreneurs to date.In 2014, NY Small Business Services selected CBC to co-write and teach a groundbreaking program for NYC Housing Authority residents. The Food Business Pathways Program trained over 350 people with the goal of gaining self-sufficiency. Over 280 launched new businesses. Wall Street Journal New York Teaches Food Business to Public Housing Residents. In 2015, John became a consultant and trainer with JANUS Solutions. Under JANUS, we trained hundreds of supervisors and managers for the Essex County Department of Family Assistance and Benefits on improving team performance and organizational outcomes. In 2018, this work was expanded to include the Union County Division of Social Services. In 2018, John joined Mosaic Development Partners as Director of Business Development. Mosaic development provides the community with exceptional living and work spaces. Mosaic utilizes a unique, community-based approach to development through true partnerships with communities to jointly develop high quality living environments and is a leader in working in challenging neighborhoods. John is a strong believer that small business development is the engine that will change not only businesses but lives and communities as well.
