- Development and implementation of the company's damage prevention programs including the oversight of the Dig Safe System (IRTH).- Leads, motivates and develops the Damage Prevention team; prioritizes work and allocates resources in order to ensure the company's damage prevention programs are delivered in line with expectations and client /business objectives.- Manages operational process activities related to the locating of underground utilities within an area in order to achieve high productivity, low costs, and efficient work practices and to ensure compliance.- Develops and manages ongoing relationships with contractors, third party excavators and constituents in order to identify and deliver solutions that benefit both parties. Specifically builds relations and outreach programs with contractors in order to maintain oversight of work planned or being carried out around existing facilities.- Liaises with divisions, union leadership, and regulatory agencies regarding prevention issues.- Lead the claims process, direct third party claims adjusters, ensure timely and accurate handling of claims and other key documents/reports, ensure proper claims funding and invoice processing.- Act as the field’s primary point of contact for all claim matters/concerns. - Develop and implement streamlined claims management programs and processes for each line of coverage; provide regular training opportunities and educational materials to the field.- Partner closely with Health & Safety team members to reduce claim frequency and severity.- Review significant settlement requests and consult with appropriate internal and external partners. - Provide regular updates to management and the field on high dollar, high profile claims. Utilize various information systems to develop claim trends scorecard for management and the field.- Lead Liaison for claims recovery from third party damages and dispute resolution. Identify and deliver solutions.
