As a trainee I was based on a commercial site (for a example a future house building piece of land), where I was excavating archaeological features, putting into bags any finds that were found in the feature, once completed I would photograph, draw it and write context sheets about what I interpreted it to be. As part of the traineeship I had weekly classroom lectures about the industry of archaeology and what it is like to work in a commercial setting.

Oxford, England, United Kingdom

Acted as an information point and monitored security of the college, interacted with students, staff and guests and answered any questions that they had. Carried out administration duties such as answering emails, sorting post and franking outgoing mail. Whilst working night shifts was required make sure any student events were at the correct capacity and that their conduct was to an appropriate standard. Additionally had to lock up different doors and entrances to ensure the site was safe and secure at all times.

East Sussex

Gatwick Airport

• Worked directly for the airline, duties covered all aspects of passenger and baggage activity, from picking up items, once sent from check in desk and down conveyor belt, loading them onto the trailer and sent to the aircraft. • Assisted in unloading inbound baggage before loading the outbound to the aircraft for its departure. • Supervised and interacted with passengers boarding outbound aircraft.

Gatwick Airport

• Employed to monitor performance of ground handling agents’ ability to meet landing and departure deadlines and executing ramp duties when agents were unable to meet their time obligations. • Relayed any shortfalls to management who reported to Gatwick Airport Ltd. • Subcontracted to work as a Ramp Agent for Norwegian Airlines, working on Boeing 737 and 787 Dreamliner aircraft. • Spent four months in the Omniserve/Red Handling office carrying out admin duties.

Gatwick Airport

• Employed airside loading and unloading baggage from predominantly EasyJet aircraft• Trained to use company airside vehicles including Electric baggage tractors, belt loaders and baggage lorries.• Was a qualified headset operator trained for being in contact with the cockpit when the aircraft is pushed back off stand, monitoring the safety of the aircraft to ensure it makes a safe departure.

Lingfield, Surrey

• Based in a residential house for teenagers with Epilepsy, Autism and other serious behavioural difficulties. • House contained males only with varying mental and learning abilities • Involved in supporting them to complete their day to day tasks, such as bathing, dressing themselves and preparing their meals.• Assisting them in free time activities and being their chaperone when going offsite.

Sayers Common, West Sussex

• Weekly boarding school specifically for children who have been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome or Autistic Spectrum Disorder. • As a residential staff member, monitored students and supervised their outside school hours activities. • Duties included waking them up, being present at mealtimes and getting them to school on time. • Additional duties included being a classroom teaching assistant, supporting students of various different age groups with the work that they have been set.

Osmington Bay, Dorset

• Worked at one of the 15 activity PGL centres in the United Kingdom, for age groups of 7-18 years old. • Supervised Quad biking, Archery and Fencing sessions with on average 12 students, • Duties included giving each person feedback in their progress throughout session, whilst taking into consideration the health and safety aspects for each activity • Acted as a Group leader for schools visiting for the week, providing pastoral care and acting as liaison and guide throughout their stay.
