I am Director of Sport & Activities at Brisbane Grammar School with a major focus upon developing “Intelligent Performers” across the Year 5 to Year 12 and responsible for planning, implementing and leading the cocurricular sporting and activities programs at Brisbane Grammar SchoolI have taught within the Education Queensland, Catholic and Independent Sector’s over a 30 year timeframe. This has involved experience from Pre-School to Yr. 12, from rural to inner city . Added to this I have been involved in Lecturing and Tutoring at QUT in relation to Senior Program requirements and Pedagogy. Several presentations at State, National and International conferences in relation to Pedagogy and Physical Performance standards and assessment have been made including many articles been published in relation to these topic areas in conference papers and in “Active Australia”. I have many associations with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority these have included: Senior Endorser for Trial Senior Assessment instruments . Senior Assessor for Trial Senior External Examination. District Panel Chairperson for Brisbane North and Brisbane Central- approving students standards of work for over 20 yrs.Syllabus review and rewrite committee for the 2010 Physical Education Syllabus. I have also been involved in inter assessment including a pilot study in Western Australia involved in developing an assessment task that utilising and on-line marking interface. Other roles I have undertaken in my professional career have included been State Chairperson for the Queensland Secondary Schools Athletics committee which oversees 13-19 years Schools Cross Country and Track and Field. Having stepped down recently I have received a Life Membership award. Within Track and Field and Cross Country I have been fortunate enough to coach from the School level through to International School Federation Championships, World Juniors, World Cup and Commonwealth games.
