Served 7 years as an enlisted communications specialist including time in the USAF Reserve. Served 27 1/2 years as a commissioned officer in Communications and Information Systems. Held command at the Group and Squadron level, Director of Staff for a Numbered Air Force, and held various positions at MAJCOM, HAF, and NAF organizations as well as within NATO. I have a BSEE, a MS Systems Technology and an MS in Strategic Studies. I would like to get involved in the protection of the critical infrastructure in North Carolina including computer networks and SCADA control systems.Specialties: I pride myself on dealing with tough issues in both the communications field and the human resources fields. I have interfaced with senior officials in the US Government including Dept of State, Dept of Defense, and also with senior officials in the United Kingdom, Iraq, and NATO nations.

Project ManagerPittsboro Passive House Jun 2011 - PresentPittsboro NcWorking on odd jobs at our new home - have done carpentry, masonry, concrete, framing, window/door insulation, retaining wall construction, clearing, and general clean-up as well as landscaping and lighting. The house we built is a passive house, certified to Passive House Institute of the US energy saving standards. Uber-tight house with recent blower door test yielding .50 Air Changes per House at 50 Pascals pressure. Most Energy Star homes are significantly higher on the leakage scale and require more energy to heat and cool. Our roof is insulated to R60, the walls to R43 and the basement slab to R20. Helped plan the activation ceremony, assumption of command, and then helped attain Initial Operational Capability in record time. Personally worked staffing issues to increase personnel assigned to the NAF from 7 to over 100, including requesting temporary support while permanent personnel assignments were pending. Represented the Commander 24 AF in numerous meetings and decisions. Acted on behalf of the Commander when the Commander and Vice Commander were both off station. Ensured critical decision process was not broken when critical network anomalies were noted on US Air Force communications networks. Represented 24 AF at the organizational meetings for the stand-up of US Cyber Command. -

Responsible for day to day operations of over 2700 network servers and records management for all personnel files in the US Air Force. Led response to large-scale theft of personally identifying information and helped develop solutions to prevent future breaches of security.
