Planning the development of the national transmission grid, securing regulatory approval for upgrade plans and capital expenditure and working with customers on their grid connection needs. A key achievement was the development and delivery of Transmission Tomorrow – the long term view of the NZ Grid

Engineering and market support to real time grid operation. Included working with industry stakeholders and regulators to resolve real time power system operation issues - ie wind integration, winter capacity margins and dry year system operation.

Management of real time power system operation; both operating shift and engineering/market support teams. Chair of company Y2k operational contingency planning task force.
