Research Expertise• More than 20 years experience as a plant pathologist working on both foliar and root diseases.• Research projects funded by BBSRC, Defra, AHDB, EU, TSB, Innovate UK.• Current research focuses on soilborne diseases caused by fungal pathogens such as Fusarium, Sclerotinia and Pythium; areas include pathogen biology, population structure, molecular diagnostics and monitoring, biological control, biofumigation, identification and development of new sources of plant disease resistance.• Research group comprises one PDRA, two technicians and four PhD students. Professional Activities• Member of BBSRC Pool of Experts.• Member of EU EIP-Agri soilborne diseases working group.• Member of British Society for Plant Pathology and American Phytopathological Society.• UK/Europe regional coordinator of the International Sclerotinia Working Group.• Regular referee for numerous journals including Plant Pathology, Phytopathology, PLOS One. • PhD examiner for UK and overseas universities.
