December 2008 – Present (15 years) TECHNICAL SERVICE ENGINEER III joined VMware in December 2008 and started working on the Emerging Products team, we support a range of products, including VMware Fusion, VMware Workstation, VMware Player, VMware Converter, VMware Lab Manager and VMware ThinApp. In the Summer of 2009, I moved to the Install O/S team, where I supported customers with vCenter and ESX/ESXi installations.TECHNICAL SERVICE ENGINEER IIIIn March 2010, I moved to the End User Computing Team and worked primarily on VMware Horizon View and its related technologies. I stayed on this team for almost 3 years, and dealt with many high profile escalated cases surrounding VMware View. Daily I would handle cases related to linked clones and instant clones, view composer database, ADAM database issues, user profile issues. TECHNICAL SERVICE ENGINEER IV, STAFF ENGINEERIn January 2013, I moved to the Premier Services Team at VMware. On the Premier Services Team I deal with BCS (Business Critical), MCS (Mission Critical) and HCS (Health Care) customers only. I am a Senior Engineer on this Team, and we deal with any issue that our customer set has and on any VMware product. We deal with our customers from start to finish. On this team I still get to deal with VMware View on a regular basis, but I have also been able to become familiar with a range of other products – I support vCenter and ESX/ESXi, vROPs and Horizon. I am also responsible for interviewing new candidates for the Premier Services team. STAFF ENGINEER - EUC BACKLINE TEAMI currently work on the Horizon EUC team – we support Horizon View, App Volumes, DEM and Cloud Connector. I am a member of a small backline team. I support the frontline team members with difficult customer situations.I also regularly work with our escalation management team to expedite a fix for a customer as necessary.

At Schlumberger, I worked on a team responsible for supporting a large number of on and offshore users with a wide variety of applications and issues. The service desk operated 24 x 7, and for the most of my there I worked a mix of day and night shifts. I was also a LDAP administrator for Schlumberger, as well as LAN Administrator for the Cork office, which included being on call at weekends and supporting over 100 users in the Cork office with their desktops/laptops, connectivity issues, as well as assisting the shared services department with a variety of accounting applications. I was also responsible for maintaining the on-site backup, email and file share servers
