John commenced his career with an engineering management cadetship and gained an electrical engineering degree, after which he gained contracting experience and managed multidisciplinary sales service and contracting operations.His education continued with a graduate diploma in business and administration and further management studies at Mt Elisa in Victoria, Australia and Templeton College in Oxford, England.John has driven re–branding processes both nationally and internationally. He has strategic and operational risk assessment experience, with focus on developing customer alignment.As a CEO, John tripled the profitability of one of New Zealand’s largest integrated fire and security organisations, spanning seven divisions,1500 personnel and an annual turnover exceeding $142million.After a varied 30 year career, John made the move to leave the big business world for business consulting: guiding and assisting primarily SME owners and leaders to take their businesses to the next level of performance and alignment.In the community John supports a number of not-for-profit organisations with structure, governance and operational advice, while chairing a number of trust boards and is involved in mentoring and coaching high potential individuals.
