Creative One Media is the in-house design team for Cru and provides graphic/visual design, motion graphics, video production and website development for Cru campus staff and ministry teams. Our creative staff work remotely (locations spanning the U.S.) as well as from a few physical studio locations (Austin, TX, Indianapolis, IN, Philadelphia, PA and Paris, France).

Our team works to see the model of the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) on Campus. Everything we do is for the purpose of making disciples of Jesus Christ. My week consists of meeting students, leading a men's bible study, meeting one-on-one with Cru students in a mentorship role for discipleship, helping plan and produce our weekly large group meeting, and promoting region-wide (and nation-wide) opportunities for students.I continue to assist with regional graphic design projects as needed but have found a great amount of creative freedom as I've worked on videos, print materials and display elements for our local ministry events at Clemson University.

Our regional operations team works with ministry directors to put on events, provide resources and design systems that enable campus staff teams to accomplish their ministry goals. As a specialist in graphic design on the operations team, I create and implement design for conferences and events. I primarily use the Adobe creative suite of software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects) to create artwork for print and web as well as the occasional video piece. I work with FedEx Office and UPS to produce large format print pieces as well as online printers (like Printplace.com) and full service local print shops to produce and bind long run or custom pieces like our multi-page winter conference manual and journal. Often, I will produce schedules and name tags in-house for smaller events on a Sharp MX-C4025C color laser printer. In addition to art production, I often travel to help run conferences. I have some experience in stage and room design but usually, my role is to help set up and run the AV services for large meetings. I run an Apple Keynote presentation from my laptop to display lecture notes and video as well as words for hymns and worship songs performed on stage. Learning as I go, I have become familiar with basic skills on setting up and running a soundboard for a live event although often I have a partner to help coordinate the real-time transitions and room lights.As full-time staff in the ministry of Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), My wife and I have the opportunity to travel and engage in student ministry in the summer. We spend 5 weeks (or more) in the summer with college students leading students in discipleship and Bible study.

Ran weekly youth programs such as Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible Studies. This consisted primarily of lesson planning and teaching. Larger events such as DiscipleNow weekends and a summer youth camp required me to manage housing and recruit Bible teachers, musicians, speakers and volunteers.

Worked in a team environment in the Graphics Services department in the Simpsonville, SC location. I used vector design software (Illustrator and FreeHand) to update and prepare artwork for flexographic print. This often consisted of changing product details such as nutrition facts and safe handling instructions for film bags and laminates (produced on site).
