John Cocca is a Public Safety Professional (Ret.). Colleagues describe him as "John is by far the finest law enforcement professional I have ever met. I worked for him at the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy in Phoenix for a couple of years. John was the consumate leader and always had the best interest of the students and staff in mind. He was a training progressive and yet held dear the culture of the past and traditions of those who came before. John is patient, positive, wise, and engergetic. He is able to see the impact of the immediate and how it unfolds into the future. Each and every decision was well thought out and considered before rendering. If I didn't work for another agency, I would want to work for him. He is that well respected. On a personal note, John is also very personable and funny. One always felt uplifted after leaving his company. I am a better leader having served under him and I highly recommend John for any law enforcement position or event. I also watched him interview a recruit who was in deep trouble for what led to a series of criminal incidents. John fell into his criminal interview mind-set and his skills were superb and the recruit who had been vociferiously denying incriminating involvement, suddenly found himself pinned into the the proverbial corner and admitting his culpability.
