• Project leader for new cost savings product and process scale up, including pilot development, implementation in manufacturing and customer validation.• Identify, model, test and recommend next generation process technologies for powder process development in the areas of general chemical processing, precipitation, washing, high shear mixing, wet and dry particle size reduction, slurry and solution drying, high temperature thermal processing, classification and packaging.• Manage $2M pilot facility for development of new powder products and processes.• Develop cost and scaling models from pilot and laboratory level tests.• Plan and coordinate optimization efforts on cathode powder production in China manufacturing balancing production needs with test time requirements. Additionally responsible for qualification of the line, equipment improvement projects, process development testing and analysis, and APQP documentation process.• Identify, design and source equipment for $2M pilot powder facility in Romulus MI capable of supporting current manufacturing processes, as well as future development in powder processing and raw material chemical synthesis.• Project manager of installation, commissioning and qualification of prototype line, coordinating with contract labor, and foreign vendors. • Plan and coordinate with multiple groups to execute supplier qualifications and process verification and validation for the production efforts in China.• Statistical analysis of engineering tests.
