Founded the Galway Energy Summit (GES) with other members of the Energy Society in NUI, Galway.Organised a venue to hold the networking event at the GES to allow students, faculty and members of the public to meet representatives from various companies involved in sustainable energy. This provided an opportunity for prospective graduates and other job seekers to meet potential employers in an ever growing sector in the engineering field.Assisted with the social media accounts, posting regular updates on the event, advertising for the GES.Acted as point of contact with Buildings Office, ground crews and other college departments to ensure timely set up of the venues and adequate health and safety measures in place for all attending.

Insulated houses and installed Sigma Airtight Membrane. This required attention to detail while working on multiple houses at different stages of development. Additional tasks included assisting with various other sub-contractors as required: Installing foundations for sheds, carpentry, steel works and installation of fire and insulated slabs.Worked to meet deadlines constantly so as other contractors could complete their work on schedule in order to complete air tightness tests on the membrane in the houses.Acted as Junior Site Foreman for a project in an inner city shopping centre. Completed daily safety checks, assisted sub-contractors with their tasks, organised materials for contractors, maintained safe working environment for everyone on site.

Due to my high result in Engineering Graphics in my first year of university I was asked to work as a laboratory demonstrator while in my second year. The purpose of being the laboratory demonstrator was to assist the first year students with their AutoCAD assignments during their weekly lab sessions. Skills gained included mentoring of younger students as well as further improving my AutoCAD abilities.

Worked with my father for his tiling business Galway Tilers. This work involved manual handling, precision and time management.Other skills gained included working alongside other trade disciplines, management of a small business and small projects.

Working in The Forge I gained experience working as part of a team and working with the public in a busy work environment.Other skills gained included customer service, general work as a barman and waiter working behind the bar and on the floor: taking orders and using the till.
