Consultant to Marubeni to manage Balance of Plant (BOP) commissioning activities associated with the Lignite fired 600 MW Ultra Supercritical Mae Moh Power Plant Units 4-7 replacement project. Lead multi-National multi-Discipline commissioning team responsible for commissioning, operation and pre-turnover maintenance of the following systems: Water Treatment, Waste Water Treatment, Compressed Air, Emergency Diesel Generators, Cooling Water/ Aux Cooling Water, Cooling Tower, Chlorination, Fire Fighting, Coal Handling, Flyash, Bottom Ash, Gypsum removal handling, and Fuel oil storage and distribution.

Mechanical Commissioning Lead/Operations Manager for the 2 x 300 MW unit coal fired Thai Binh 1 Thermal Power Plant in Vietnam. Contract employee working for PIC Group Inc (subsidiary of Marubeni). As mechanical commissioning lead coordinated with the sub vendors and their TFA to commission all major equipment. Moved to Operations Manager for initial plant operation until handover to the client at the project completion. Set up the operating teams made up of predominately local Vietnamese personnel with minimal expat operators. Trained the operators on the new equipment, prepared and set up equipment operating monitoring through operator rounds, and developed temporary operating instructions to effectively manage abnormal equipment operation during the initial commissioning phase.

Responsible for the startup and commissioning of an Activated Carbon Injection (ACI) system for lignite fueled power plant (Hallsville, TX). Commissioning manager for the installation of pollution control equipment for a single unit 500 MW PRB coal fired power plant in Gentry, AR. Installed an Alstom NID dry FGD and associated limestone unloading and transport system as well as an ACI system for HG control.

Contract employee working for Williams as a mechanical commissioning lead on a 60,000 bpd oil and gas production spar located in the Gulf of Mexico. Commissioned the following equipment: Solar T60 turbines generators, 60 man life vessels and davits, Caterpillar emergency generators, Hydraulic power units, glycol regeneration system, and the heat medium system.

Contract employee working for the American Electric Power (AEP) Startup and Commissioning group. Performed work on the following projects:Big Sandy Unit 1, Westinghouse Turbine Generator set, Emerson Ovation control system. Startup and Commissioning Manager for the Turbine and Controls upgrade project. Scoped and prepared startup packages, developed startup schedule, and executed the startup plan. Developed and integrated an improved sequence for testing activities associated with the commissioning of a new Emerson Electro Hydraulic Control (EHC) system. This resulted in a positive improvement of 10 days to the unit return to service date.Cardinal Unit 3, Startup and Commissioning Manager for the Wet Flue Gas Desulphurization system (WFGD). Managed the commissioning of all equipment associated with the WFGD and Dry Sorbent Injection Systems (DSIS). Work was performed safely on time and below budget.Clinch River Babcock & Wilcox roof fired boiler. Managed the startup and commissioning activities for the Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) rail unloading bulk urea storage system, upgrades to the existing water treatment system, and installation of an SO3 injection system. Commissioned and turned over to the customer 1 month ahead of schedule.Conesville Unit 4, 800 MW pulverized coal, Managed the startup and commissioning activities for a Urea to Ammonia conversion plant, Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR), and installation of a Diamond Power hydro-jet boiler slag cleaning system. Also commissioned the dry fly-ash and sludge treatment processing plant.Clifty Creek - 1304 MW pulverized coal, Babcock and Wilcox boiler. Mechanical Startup and Commissioning lead for the Wet Flue Gas Desulphurization system. Mechanical Startup Engineer responsible for the commissioning of all equipment associated with the WFGD and DSIS systems.

Managed a maintenance department with 62 (56 Union represented) employees. Forecasted and prepared an annual maintenance budget of $6.5 million. Improved the material condition of plant components which resulted in the lowest EFOR rate and highest generation in the 40 year history of the station. Utilizing the EPRI Plant Reliability and Optimization (PRO) model, I developed and implemented improved maintenance performance metrics that were implemented across the TVA fleet. Consistently met or exceeded all safety goals and achieved zero Recordable Environmental Events.

Served as a system engineer responsible for the technical support and configuration control for the following systems: Boilers, pulverizers, ash, draft, feed, and condensate systems. Lead the boiler tube failure reduction efforts which resulted in a 0.3% 2006 Boiler EFOR and overall station EAF of 98.8%. Qualified as a Non Destructive Testing Level II Examiner for visual and ultrasonic testing of welds and materials.
