Engineering Manager within BV Dairy. To manage the Engineering Dept consisting of three fulltime Engineers and one newly appointed Apprentice Engineer.Responsibilities in current position include:- To develop and continuously improve business performance to achieve sustainable financial and operational success through reducing variable costs.Duties include, managing the maintenance budget, ordering parts, organising outside contractors as well as the running of the pre-planned maintenance program to keep all the plant in safe working order. To ensure that Engineering and Contracting personnel carry out all aspects of work in a safe manner and that any production operations are never jeopardised. Design and specification of new process equipment to improve production performance and efficiencies. Manage and program timetables of events and monitor progress throughout duration of projects. Liaise with Directors and produce Engineering Reports to show progress throughout various projects and general repairs and maintenance. Upgrade and implement PLC Automation to various manual yet complex process depts not to mention train factory operatives. Work with both the Technical Dept and the Managing Director to introduce a comprehensive SCADA system that monitors various plant equipment and records critical point controls. This system is constantly being expanded and has proven to be a great tool to show both live and historical data, not to mention its capabilities to be used for fault finding and highlighting improvements.
