John Cornelison currently serves as the Child & Adolescent Services Manager for Highland Rivers Health. In this role, he provides clinical supervision, administrative oversight, and programmatic leadership for mental health professionals serving children, teenagers, and young adults in 12 Northwest Georgia counties.John is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified School Counselor. He is also a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. He holds a Master of Science degree in Community Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University. John has also completed post graduate work in counseling at other institutions of higher learning.John has extensive experience as a conference presenter, in public and private management, and providing inpatient mental health care. Additionally, he has spent many years in public, private, and school-based counseling practice.John has a long history of community involvement. He served as a past board member for Paulding Pregnancy Services, was on the professional advisory board of Cherokee County C.H.A.D.D., and was a former member of the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit’s Family Violence Task Force. He also served on the Men Stopping Violence Public Policy Committee, as well as the legislative committee for the Georgia Commission on Family Violence.John is a Georgia native.
