BIOJohn Corso is the former CEO of The Coastal Companies, a company he acquired with private equity backing in 2007. Under his leadership, The Coastal Companies grew revenue from $85M to $600M and emerged as the preeminent produce distributor and processor on the East Coast. In August 2022, John retired from The Coastal Companies after successfully selling the company to Sysco Corporation earlier that year. During an 18 year career as CEO, John partnered with four private equity sponsors on two platforms where he executed multiple acquisitions and successfully managed four distinct sale processes. His industry experience includes distribution, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, and hospitality. Prior to becoming a CEO, John held roles in consulting, investment banking, and division management at a publicly traded company. John currently serves on the board of Lipman Family Farms - one of the nation's largest integrated networks of growers, processors, and distributors of fresh produce. He also serves on the board of Margin Edge - a venture backed restaurant management software company. Prior board positions include The Coastal Companies, Santana Products, and multiple industry trade associations. Since retiring from Coastal in 2022, John has turned his full time attention to investing in middle market companies and startups through Seven Holdings LLC, a holding company he started nearly 20 years ago. John holds an HBA from the Ivey Business School in London, Ontario and an MBA from Harvard University, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar. He has been an active member of YPO/YPOG since 2005.
