Before coding, I was in the banking industry for 13 years.I did everything from business development to customer service, to development/implementation of new products & services. The most useful part of what I did was learn how to build, maintain, and grow relationships with businesses...with people. Furthermore, I was the head of our merchant credit card POS (point of sale) program, dealing with new merchant setup, PCI complaince, and general tech support.In 2014, I was asked to develop and lead our cyber security training program. This meant creating training for employees as well as customers, and specialized, personal training for higher risk business customers. One of the most exciting and creative parts of this function was to design specific phishing email tests that I sent out to employees. These were designed to keep employees diligent in protecting the bank, and also to help analyze or identify potential weaknesses.Despite my professional successes, I felt like there might be something that is a BETTER fit for my career. As my work roles grew increasingly technology related, I found an increased interest and drive in that direction. ALL signs pointed DIRECTLY at becoming a developer...So, foot to the pedal, I made the switch to enroll at Centriq Training. As I went through their Full Stack .NET Developer program...coding FELT 100% RIGHT for that career "fit" I was seeking.
