Developing Inveniam's public fundraising services, in particular, focusing on supporting SMEs and researchers to apply to, and win, funding from the European Innovation Council and Horizon Europe calls, as well as other European and Spanish national funding instruments.

Provided undergraduate course on R+D Grant writing and grant management for life science projects.

During my time at Aristos, I was involved in the preparation of 17 winning SME instrument phase 2 projects. Of these 12 have come during the period 2016/2017, when I was working as Managing Director. Aristos’ phase 2 success rate in the period 2016/2017 was 55% with 12 of the 22 projects presented receiving funding. For all the SME instrument phase 2 projects I wrote during this period, all received a score of over 13 in at least one submission. During the same period, 17 phase 1 projects were financed for Aristos’ clients.

Consultancy, fund-raising and European public funding instruments in the field of R&D and Innovation projects. Specific responsibility for helping innovative entrepreneurs, start ups and SMEs undertake impact evaluations, cost benefit analysis, market research, developing business, IPR and innovation strategies and to access public and private finance.Also leading on the development of all aspects of the "impact section" for European Commission research funding proposals, with a 75% funding success rate and an average score of 4.5/5.Additionally, undertaking research for the European Commission (DG Connect, Innovation Unit) on the barriers to public financing for innovative ICT SMEs in order to make policy recommendations for the SME instrument due to be launched in Horizon 2020.

- Hospital Benchmarking, Hospital Master Plan (World Bank, Kazakhstan); Using several different data sources, I created a hospital performance matrix, from which I developed a collated index to identify the best performing hospitals in Kazakhstan. I analysed the index to examine the key determinants of poor performance (using SQL, SPSS and Excel) and how these might be reduced. This was used as a key building block for the Hospital Master Plan.- Impact assessment of education equality and social programmes (MoE, Costa Rica)I examined the profile of children and schools benefitting from the Government’s grants program to discuss if these grants were achieving the Government’s policy aims (SPSS and Excel)Other projects included; Jamaica: Impact Assessment of PATH (conditional cash transfer program) (World Bank) Belize: Financial Restructure of Secondary Education (InterAmerican Bank) I wrote various research proposals with one being awarded US$500,000 by the USTDA.

As the key advisor to the Council Secretary my role was to try and identify areas in which the Council can improve its operations. •Facilitated workshops, collected data, project analysis and wrote the District Poverty Reduction Strategy, District Development Plan and the Council Strategy;•Designed and carried out economic, environmental and social surveys;•Provided project analysis and research and policy and management advice to Councilors;•Designed and implemented improved project management and M&E systems;•Trained staff and officials on strategic planning, project management and budgeting;•Managed grants and wrote financial reports both to the Ministry of Finance and Councillors; •Created 2 Access 07 databases to improve data collection and donor management;•Raised $550,000 from EU for decentralisation and Good Governance projects in the Council;•Project managed creation of sub-district governance structures and small grants programme; •Provided strategic support to other organisations on resource mobilisation, strategy, project management and M&E including government sectors such as education and agriculture, and NGOs running HIV/ AIDS programs, the community radio station, microfinance and a fair trade conservation cooperative. Over US$350,000 was raised from donors for these efforts.
