Researching and interviewing persons for features in a national magazine.

Teaching English to private students in different locations throughout the Spanish and Portuguese mainland to both children and seasoned professionals. This taught me a number of skills:- adapting my lesson plans to the clientele- being able to find material outside the coursebook to make English real- keep my students entertained and focused at all times- maintain class organisation and discipline when needed.

I wrote a number of features for an internet publication based in the European cultural capital on a voluntary basis.

Worked as a news reporter, editor and news translator for a weekly newspaper with six editions covering different areas of Spain. I was in charge of one particular edition for the interior region of white villages for which I wrote a number of different stories on cultural and social issues for the expatriate community in a traditional countryside dynamic.

Worked as a reporter taking on a wide range of stories including the translation of news pieces from their original Spanish and interviewing local figures of authority and popular significance. The work was intended to cover for another employee who was out on maternity leave during this time, hence the short period of work.

Worked at a number of schools like Cultura Inglesa in Recife, Pernambuco, as well as Universidad de la Molina in Lima, Peru. Through that experience I learned more about planning for the lessons, the different sociocultural adaptation and the way we should be ready for any eventuality.

I was responsible for a number of classes during the teaching season over the 2003 summer season, where I learnt more about class organisation, planning and orientation before taking similar positions around South America.

In my first journalistic appointment I dived straight into the politically-charged British territory's everyday life using my NCTJ training as a basis to deliver impacting and concise reports on the ongoing issues of the day.
