By connecting Class A office buildings, Fortune 500 Companies, Universities and the like, with "The Cloud", John was able to see the beginning of "Smart Buildings" and "Smart Cities". Working with the local power company and using their "rights of way" he gained early insight into what is now known as the "Smart Grid".John lead a team in the implementation of a "Disruptive" technology, Passive Optical LANS (POL) into one of the Fortune 500 Companies located on Long Island, New York. Using "Fiber to The Desk Top" technology they were able to cut their capital and energy cost by half while reducing other operating expenses significantly.John is well known in the technology industry and is a current founding board member of Long Island Software & Technology Network (LISTnet, www.listnet.org). LISTnet was established 20 years ago and has approximately 500 members. John has appeared in leading publications such as Newsday, Long Island Business News and Fortune Magazine.
