Joined Emerson as a product manager for flow computers and was promoted to Industry Marketing Manager. Led successful product development with revenue growth exceeding forecasts activity by 200% Responssible for defining market and customer requirements for new products related to hydrocarbon fluid flow measurement in accordance with AGA and API standards. Participated in developing a New Product Development process based on the Stage Gate process and developed product training material for global product introduction.

Joined Schlumberger as a Technical Project Manager, and was accountable for managing technically complex integrating and installting siesmic 3-D visualization systems that included state-of-the-art graphics processor (Silicon Graphic, Sun Microsystems), video teleconferencing equipment, audiovisual system for image management. I also led a project to develop an Employee Relationship Management (ERM) application and Call Center for the Employee Services Group which required complete solution redesign. This system enabled the benefits administrators to measure workload and track employee benefits issues and increase the service levels for the group using a case management and automatic call direction system. It dramatically increased the productivity of the agents. I was involved in business development and proposal leadership.

Managed the operations, support and development of the IT Department of a mortgage processing operation. Responsible for Database and Application development and migration to an Oracle cluster of Sun 450 database servers The activity included the roll out of seven servers and 100 workstations. The position was also responsible for corporate disaster recovery (DR) and business continuation (BC) planning and implementation and establishing a full service help desk and desktop support activity. I led the development of a mortgage processing system that dramatically increased mortgage processing and underwriting productivity and involved both inbound and outbound call processing and control. Led extensive testing for Y2K compliance.

Responsible for the directing the engineering department and managing all corporate IT activities, of a small company manufacturing software and hardware control systems for upstream oilfield applications. Responsible for managing 11 direct reports in the development of hardware and firmware for micro-controllers and software for SCADA Systems, RTUs and oil well pump-off controllers. Utilized OPC standards, ModBus protocol, and embedded micro-controllers. Designed and implemented a product development system using MS Project and MS Access for improving time to market for product development 50%. Certified embedded firmware and SCADA host software programs as Y2K compliant. Design tools included OrCAD, Protel and AutoCAD for schematics, assembly drawings for PC Board and enclosure design. Responsible for ISO-9002/ERP program and re-certified production facility.

In my six years as a general manager and vice president with full P&L responsibility, I led a business unit that managed the television contract for NASA Johnson Space Center and various projects for aerospace companies. The television projects included, engineering design procurement and installation of closed circuit TV systems for use in space, in test areas, video teleconferencing, image storage and management systems. I also managed the design and construction of a television production studio, editing suite and my unit won 25 awards for excellence in television production. I implemented a project management methodology through business process re-engineering that increase productivity 100% during 5 years of the contract. The total project was valued at over $50 million involved 100 people and annual revenues exceeded $12 million

As Vice President and General Manager for six years with full P&L responsibility, I led the transition of word processing, technical illustration and procurement support, on a large NASA contract, moving applications from main frames (IBM360s, VAX 751) to midrange computers and then to PCs using Microsoft Windows with 50% reduction in Total Cost of Ownership and dramatic increase in productivity. During this time I led the sales development activity and sales grew from $11 million to over $25 million per year. The number of employees under my supervision grew from 200 to 450 people and the total value of all projects exceeded $100 million.

I managed the due diligence activity for two successful acquisitions and managed a marketing and sales campaign that included product development for gas processing equipment and instrumentation for the Oil and Gas sector. My accomplishments also included decreasing the time to market for new products through standardization. My group won industry awards for product innovation and advertising programs.
